ColdFusion is a commercial rapid application development platform invented by Jeremy and JJ Allaire in 1995. Originally designed to make it easier to connect simple HTML pages to a database, by version 2 it had become a full platform that included an IDE in addition to a full Scripting Language. Current versions of ColdFusion, sold by Adobe Systems, include advanced features for enterprise integration and development of rich internet applications.

At my age 47 should I learn Flex 3 or Coldfusion?
Q. I was thhinking learning Flex 3 and know a little bit of Coldfusion 8. But I was told to specialize in CF8 and know a little bit of Flex instead. That way the learning curve will be easier. But I noticed that CF jobs require at least 5 years of experience so I am not sure what I should specialize? Should I keep my7 original idea? Be extremely good at Flex 3 and know some CF? Thanks for your time.

A. Neither. Learn PHP. If this is not an option, stick to whatever you have the most experience in and go with that. Take care! Brian

How do I create a search of my entire website in coldfusion?
Q. I have learnt how to create a search form for people to search on the page they are currently on. They look up "style" and everything on that page with the word "style" shows up, everything else disappears. How do I allow the user to search and find something that is on a different page? If they search "living" and there is nothing that says living on the current page, but it is on another one...to have the other page show up and do the same thing. Make sense?

A. you could use a custom Google search. It can be configured to have an option to search your site (I'm sure you've seen them). _
